Hayley Williams On 'Glee' Salute: 'I Felt Like I Was Levitating'

On Tuesday night's Britney-riffic episode of "Glee," there was just one performance (aside from that part where Mr. Schue sang Michael McDonald in his new Corvette) that didn't center on all things Spears: Lea Michele's rather stirring rendition of Paramore's "The Only Exception," a key track off last year's Brand New Eyes album.
And while, to some, the inclusion of the song might have seemed a bit, well, odd (or, at least, "not Britney") in a lot of ways, Michele's performance — which ended with tears streaming down her face — sort of stole the show. It was a pretty powerful moment ... especially if you were the girl who wrote the song.
In the hours following the episode, Paramore's Hayley Williams took to her Twitter account to praise Michele's performance, and say that she was "so humbled" to have one of her band's tunes on the show.
Of course, MTV News wanted to get Williams' take on all this "Glee" madness. Given how nuts everything has been since the episode aired, it took her about a day to get back to us. And, not surprisingly, when she finally did, she still felt like she was floating on cloud nine.
"I can't even describe how I felt hearing one of our songs on a hit show like 'Glee,' " she wrote in an e-mail. "Lea Michele sang it beautifully, and I liked what she changed vocally. I felt like I was levitating off of my friend's couch trying to understand it was really happening!"
Yes, it really happened. And, from the looks of things, it's not going to stop happening anytime soon. On Thursday (September 30), nearly 48 hours since the episode first aired, the "Glee" version of "Exception" is holding steady on the iTunes singles chart. It's currently third, behind the Far East Movement's "Like a G6" and, naturally, the "Glee" version of Britney's "Toxic."
What did you think of the "Glee" version of "Only Exception"? Let us know in the comments!

Allie Is Wired! Michael Lohan will ask a judge to establish a conservatorship for Lindsay Lohan - translated, he wants to make some serious bank like Britney Spears' father did. Michael met with attorney David Chon today and will hire him to file conservatorship papers … Chon specializes in trusts and estates.

'The Event' Season 1, Episode 2 Recap (VIDEO)
['The Event' - 'To Keep Us Safe']Everyone remembers the famous exchange from 'A Few Good Men,' in which Jack Nicholson less-than-calmly informed Tom Cruise that he couldn't handle the truth. (This was long before Destiny's Child informed all of us that we weren't ready for this jelly.)
This second episode of NBC's 'The Event' seemed to reformulate the famous exchange, with the audience screaming, "We want the truth!" and the show replying, "Fine, here's a huge download of answers. Are you not entertained?" (Whoops. 'The Event' slid out from 'A Few Good Men' and straight into 'Gladiator.' In its defense, it's working really hard to please the masses.)
In some ways, one has to applaud the show for not pulling a weekly bait-and-switch, promising a chunk of tasty mythological download and only yielding a crumb by episode's end. But there was also a lot of flop sweat onscreen in the show's eagerness to prove it knows the story that it's telling. Former 'Lost' fans were no doubt confused when a scene of a plane crash was followed a huge laundry list of answers. It was almost as if The Others found Jack Shephard ten minutes after Oceanic 815 landed on the island and told them about a frozen donkey wheel a few miles away. Just utterly jarring. Getting all this info upfront is not unappreciated, but it'll take a bit of getting used to.
Lauren Conrad's Road Back To Reality TV
After time off to build her empire — books, fashion lines, cosmetics contracts and more — 'The Hills' star is ready to make another MTV hit.

Since she left "The Hills" in 2009, Lauren Conrad seemed to welcome her time away from the spotlight. But in a surprise move last week, she announced plans to return to MTV in a new docu-series about launching her latest fashion line. So what brought about LC's change of heart?
Although the reality starlet had popped up as a guest judge on "America's Next Top Model" and made one last appearance on the "Hills" finale aftershow in July, she was in no hurry to begin documenting her life again for public consumption. Instead, she focused on other projects, including a clothing line with Kohl's called LC Lauren Conrad and two novels, "L.A. Candy" and "Sweet little Lies." The third in the series, "Sugar and Spice," comes out next week, as does her fashionista guide, "Lauren Conrad Style."
Earlier this year, when we asked her about returning to television, LC was hesitant, saying that her plate was already full. And it was a sentiment she had previously shared when we caught up with her in June '09, shortly after she walked away from her hit MTV show.
"I wouldn't do a show like 'The Hills,' " she told MTV News at the time. "Nothing with my personal life, but possibly something hosting. I think I have a little bit of time to figure out what I'm going to do next."
Over time, however, it seems LC was softening to the idea. In February, she said that while she wasn't ready to make the leap back to the small screen, she wouldn't rule out behind-the-scenes opportunities.
"The only other thing I'd love to do right now is producing," she explained. "I'm just kind of looking for the perfect project because I think the first thing I do I really have to love, so I want to wait until I really have enough time to commit to a series."
That project turned out to be her own documentary series, which will put her back in front of the camera. "I am so excited to be rejoining the MTV family," Lauren said in a statement about her new TV venture. "The new project will follow me as I develop my new contemporary line and also touch on my other businesses."
At least LC has one great lesson she learned from her previous forays into reality TV. "I didn't learn a thing! I'm the same as I went in," she joked back in July. "I learned not to take yourself seriously!"
Are you excited that LC is returning to MTV in her own show? Tell us in the comments!

Kanye West Dis By Cam'ron, Jim Jones Doesn't Surprise Juelz Santana
Diplomats' third member says he knew nothing of 'Toast' track before it was posted online.

It would be a stretch to say that everyone is suddenly on Kanye West's side following his 2010 MTV Video Music Awards performance. Former Roc-a-Fella labelmates Cam'ron and Jim Jones responded to West's new track "Runaway" with a recording that takes shots at the Chicago superstar and Jay-Z.
"And Kanye, you a sucka n---a, dissed Dame so my attitude is f--- the n---a," Cam spits on "Toast," which was posted on Missinfo.tv on Wednesday. "Sucked off Jigga, how you gonna live with that/ Took the beat, now come get it back."
"You might take it the wrong way, that's what people do," Jones said. They gonna think we starting trouble, but we just viewing our opinions."
On Thursday, the other member of the recently reunited Diplomats, Juelz Santana, called in to Hot 97's Funkmaster Flex and said he knew nothing about the track before it arrived.
"To be honest, I just heard the record like a fan, like everybody else," Juelz told Flex. "I didn't even know they did the record. Me and Cam and Jim, we been speaking, but they must have did that when they were just together in the studio. That's what they do. I heard the record, I was on the Internet and thought, Wow. It shouldn't surprise people. Especially [with] Cam, he's always said how he felt about Jay-Z or Kanye. He's never been a person that's bitten his tongue."
In the past, Cam'ron and Jay-Z have traded barbs on wax. Cam appeared on J.R. Writer's "Bird Call," which featured former Roc-a-Fella co-CEO Dame Dash in the video. The pair have had differences since the Roc days when Dash attempted to appoint the Harlem MC into a VP position with the label, something that the Brooklyn lyricist disagreed with. (Dash also wanted to promote Beanie Sigel to VP, the idea being that both rappers, Beanie and Cam'ron, would oversee releases from their respective crews, State Property and Dipset.)
Cam'ron has also taken umbrage at Kanye's choosing Jay-Z over Dame Dash in the Roc split, since brash businessman Dash is the one who first took an interest in West as an artist.
MTV News' requests for comments by the parties involved were not returned as of press time.
